Backstage with the Discussants and the Stones?
This Episode
Come backstage with Doc G and the Discussants for a Friday show that starts with rock royalty and ends in the trash. First, they examine the Rolling Stones’ Foreign Tongues: Is it genuinely good, or are critics grading Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood on a curve because they are still making records in their eighties? The album gets a track-by-track test, a place in the Stones catalog and a final verdict. Then the standards fall considerably as Trash TV Friday takes over with 90 Day Fiancé and Baylen Out Loud..
Is Foreign Tongues Actually Any Good?
There is, of course, an easier way to make a program like this. Choose a side, memorize the approved vocabulary, repeat the proper talking points, and under no circumstances ask an inconvenient question. We considered that approach. Briefly, instead, there will be facts to examine, assumptions to challenge, arguments to make, and absolutely no requirement that everyone arrive at the same conclusion. Imagine that. This is Doc G and the Discussants on sabbatical. The Doctor is in.
proven. We might even let you get away with a cliche or two. Now, Doctor, what kind of careless, irresponsible modus operandi is that you're espousing? It's called Backstage with the Discussance on Friday, where we just, you know, kind of throw caution to the wind like we don't every other show. I was going to say, that's pretty much all I do. Yeah, just let it all hang out one way or another. but nothing that will get you the death threat you're so hard lobbying for, Professor. I don't think. I mean, we might get it from the stones.
Yeah, I could see that happening and talk about this new album. Yeah, I was pleasant. We listened to it end to end the other night. and decided what we liked and what we didn't like, but we thought the thing to do would be to preface this segment, or a couple of segments, where we're gonna, I don't know, talk about the stones a little bit, the new album called Foreign Tongues. Foreign Tongues? Wait a minute now, did you issue a parental warning before you said that? I did not issue a parental warning, and I'm not sure there's any on the album.
Is there? I don't see one anywhere. And I didn't see, I didn't... notice any when we listen I mean I heard no references to drugs or profanity or any of the things that we so love in our music it was just a it was just the album title that kind of took me aback yeah and you should in the cover is weird too it's it's an amalgamation I've never heard of the album until you told me it existed. I wasn't even aware that it was in existence. Well, it is. When he showed me this album cover, I think I recoiled.
Yeah, a little bit. She did. Because it was... So it must be worse than the Sticky Fingers thing, or whatever that was back in the day. Oh, you know, that was such a cool album cover. Andy Warhol, right? The Zipper. I mean, the working Zipper album cover, correct? Oh my gosh. Yeah. And didn't it... I think some copies came with a balloon. Did they not? Oh, something. I don't remember what it was. Yeah, I think it was a balloon that you could blow up, you know, not, you know, approved by parents at the time.
Anyway, the album cover here is an amalgamation of all the Stones faces. And, you know, none of them are good looking guys, not a single one of them. So you put them, you mix them all up like you would in a blender. You know, that's blasphemous to say that. And Sarah was... Properly scared I did I I can honestly say I was like, oh yeah, I literally recoiled not even kidding. Well, I can't wait to see it observation that now I'm intrigued. Yeah Actually, I kind of like that album cover. I mean, I think it it'll sit right there next to some others that I like stones album covers they They never stay with one thing, never have.
It's not like a Boston album cover. It's got to be a spaceship of some sort or a Journey album cover or some crap like that. If you get an album cover out of Stones, you may not even like it to begin with, but I don't know, they kind of seem to grow. I don't think that one will grow. Darkly and they were all in a blur on the cover. Yeah, I've got that album There's another one that's sort of like it. And now I'm going to draw a blank, which is not good when you're trying to describe an album cover.
I this is nothing like it, but in their satanic majesties, sort of like Oh, yeah, yeah, sort of like the Beatles album. Yeah, like the Beatles album. What Sergeant Pepper sort of their answer to that, which was a pathetic answer to Sergeant, Sergeant Peppers. But upstairs and had a smoke and somebody spoke and I went into a dream. Such great lyrics throughout that on every Beatles album. Really, really, really good. So, but before, you know, we give Mick, you know, more reason to sell more albums.
I'm going to go off on my soapbox again about my inability to play Rolling Stones music or anything else on the show. You know... Why don't you contact Mick? I bet he would give you a... What would you call that there? A buy? A pass? A special dispensation? Oh, let's pop G. Well, sure. Yeah, sure. That's what I'm hoping for one of these days is to... Bitch enough about it here that somebody finally has to say shut these guys up, you know I know what what's the big deal? So we were talking about a little bit before the show Between us two we're thinking what?
70 years of radio pretty easy Something like that some like that So I Go back to thinking about all the times I went back to Paul Stone's albums. And now this is how old we are actually playing records on the air, you know, queuing. You were actually playing vinyl discs. I wasn't. I wasn't. So was you. So, you know. Yeah, I remember. So, I mean, you actually sit there and slip cue something, put your finger on the record and wait for, you know, your turntable to come up to speed and let it go so it would start the instant that you wanted it to, you know, all the skills that used to make a on -air personality.
you know, had to be exercised at precisely the right moment and it was a physical job as well. You had to, you know. Slip Q, that's an odd term. Yeah, another term I've heard you use on quiet. different occasions. So, you know, I guess we're just forgetting these things maybe a little too much time. What was the term I missed that? What did you say? What term did you say you heard me use? Forget it. Just forget it. I'm moving on. So anyway, what we're, what I'm, I don't know about the rest of the discusses, what I'm really not happy about is the fact that, now I could have played for fair use here for this review.
I could have played little snips. But we would be risking not getting onto podcast platforms because the bots that crawl those things say, oh no, there's a protected piece of music and kick our podcast. There is no dispensation for that. No dispensation. There is dispensation for a review which we might have today. But no guarantee that Mr. Roboto actually knows what we're doing that we're doing a review. So you know what? Yeah, I'm not playing nothing. I'm playing nothing by the Rolling Stones.
I'm going to, you know, describe it a little bit. We'll talk about the Stones stuff. But until Mick decides that he wants to give us some do for 70 years of playing his music on the radio, making these songs hits. over and over and over and over again, and now I can't even play 10 seconds of it without being afraid of having our show kicked off the air and handed back to us and say, well, you know, submit again after you cut all that crap off. Well, look at Lars Ulrich from Metallica raised over Napster.
Right. Yeah. And at the time, I kind of saw it. I mean, I still do see how downloading now I'm not going to sell any albums anymore. That's not what we're doing here. We're occasionally would like to play a plum cut from somebody just to enhance the show. We're doing a review show today, which would be a great time to play some Stones music. We ain't playing none of it. None of it. You know what? I'm not playing it until somebody calls us and says, you know, feel free to play a cut here and there.
I don't think I think that's reasonable and I think it's do us after all the service we put in for the Rolling Stones and many other groups. Just get him on the phone. I'm sure that I can talk him into it. Let's let's do that Monday and we'll get I'm sure that he's got nothing better to do than to take our phone call. Really, he doesn't have anything better to do than take the question is will he so I think we can probably answer that Just ourselves um So here's how it went foreign tongues Is it actually good?
Well, there's 14 tracks. They're produced by Andrew Watt. Now, he's the guy who just finished with the Hackney Diamonds album. And my bet is that all these tracks were basically probably made at the same time. We know that one track was where Charlie Watts appears on a previous really recorded track that got included here. The reviews are generally favorable. I've read Rolling Stone and some other stuff, but there's disagreement underneath all of them. Strong reviews hear a genuinely alive band making one of their better late career records.
We say late career. I've thought they were going to be finished, what, back in the early 90s. Skeptics here... Scrolling still, that's a left -wing propagandist reg, is it not? Yeah, we don't get many schedules for Trump rallies out of the back of that. Skeptics, again, here, an overlong album, slick production, uneven Jagger lyrics, and no new Stones classic. So I agree with both of those reviews. I agree that, you know, it's good and there's some fantastic guitar work like you would expect. There is some wonderful vocals by Mick.
There are some falsetto sort of soprano things that he does like on Miss You and Emotional Rescue that that I really like to hear when he does them. So, you know, that's a treat. But I didn't hear a particular cut that's going to make me, you know, get back there. I said, I've got to hear this again. I've got sort of like Undercover of the Night. I mean, that's not a a giant stones hit. Dressed up in lace, dressed up in rubber. Yeah. And what is it in the jails in South America? Super cool licks and really a great tune that I had to hear again right away.
And there's not a sympathy for the devil on it. There is certainly not a Oh, miss you. I don't hear anything like
he Stones: Tracks, Verdict and Life on Stage

Hi, I'm Ryan Blaney, a third -generation race car driver, and we dedicate a lot of our time to going as fast as possible. My grandpa Lou is the reason why my dad and I started racing, and I'm really proud to follow in his tracks.
But when my grandpa was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, it was a very unexpected bump in the road for us. I've learned a lot on this journey with my grandpa Lou, and the memories of my grandpa will always be with me. It's important to notice if older family members are acting differently, experiencing problems with their memory, or having trouble with routine tasks. Talking about Alzheimer's can be really tough. But if you notice something, have a conversation with your loved one. Encourage them to see a doctor or offer to go with them.

Right, Sarah? I mean, yeah. Kind of lukewarm. What? I'm kind of lukewarm on it. Lukewarm, okay. Yeah. I think if I were to listen to it again, it might grow on me. I don't know. But it was okay. Yeah, I would characterize several of these cuts as, you know, way homers. You know, you sort of get it on the way home, like people talk about jokes. I think that, you know, there's several tunes here that I think I'm going to like when I listen to it again. So let's just go down through the track list.
I'm going to start with the title cut, Rough and Twisted. That might as well be on the Stones' blues album that they put out just, I don't know, a couple albums ago. A little of that goes a long way. Not my favorite. Then In the Stars has been a hit. So that's been out there and it's hit. It's been played, videos, those sorts of things. Jealous Lover the same way. That's got a little of that Mick falsetto, high soprano thing that is engaging and good. I really like Mr. Charm. some great guitar licks on that uh not so much maybe the uh oh i don't know i kind of like the lyrics too uh but that is got some great keith richards guitar work on it i recommend that one divine intervention now that was done with robert smith key of the cure which i never thought i'd really see the stones in the cure collaboration before but uh didn't You know, I wouldn't even have known that Robert Smith was a part of that had I not, you know, previously been appraised of that.
Ringing Hollow is a country tune. And I love it when the Stones do country because they do country better than country artists do it. Instead of going out and buying, I don't know, Keith Urban or, you know, some of this stuff that I'm not gonna, you know, I wouldn't use for it. is stuff that I wouldn't use for clay pigeons. If you want country, get the stones. This, you know, ringing hollow, killer country, kind of like girl with the faraway eyes. You know, it's as good a country as it gets. And I love it when they do it because it's always tongue in cheek.
I mean, the lyrics are like, off with the nearest truck driver she could find. I mean, these guys are from England. They ain't no truck drivers in England. Never wanna lose you, what did we think of that? It was okay, I think. If I remember right, there was some stuff. Hit me in the head was the Charlie Watts tune. You know. Could you tell the difference? I... I couldn't really. I mean, I couldn't really. I think that this was probably a tune that they left on the floor off of Hackney Diamonds and didn't really do.
These pair of albums, Hackney Diamond and Foreign Tongues, sort of remind me of the pair of albums, Emotional Rescue and Tattoo You. Came out very close together, sound a lot the same. And so I'm kind of thinking that most of the work on this album was previously done. Then, You Know I Know Good is a cover of an Amy Winehouse tune, You Know I Know Good. That's worth the purchase of the album. There's several tunes. If you're a Stones fan, you need to have this album for certain because there is good stuff in it and this is one of those things.
Covered in you, a good album, there's a ballad called Back in Your Life. That's the 13th cut that... is the Sleeper, I think. I think that's the one I like the best. Yeah. And then there's a Chuck Berry cover called, well, the title is Beautiful Delilah, which again, sort of harkens back to that hard blues stuff. So overall, I don't know what I'm going to give it. I think I'm going to reserve a number for now, like out of 10. and think about a little bit, listen to the album a couple more times.
I think Mick is waiting apprehensively on the edge of his chair. I think so. And the other reason I'm reserving my number is to see how the phone conversation goes. Call him up and say, hey, Mick, we'd like to give this thing a 10 out of 10. Any chance we can just play Stones music unencumbered? I thought you were the one who said you were going to get them on the phone. That's how I thought that was going to work. I don't have the contact numbers and I know you do. Have you seen that the lawyer guy on TV says he'd call you but he doesn't have your number?
Doesn't have your number? Your favorite lawyer? Have you seen it? Have you seen a professor? He'd call you but he doesn't have your number? That's what it, you know, Mick could call us but I'm not sure he has our number. I was waiting for a song like Sweet Sounds of Heaven. That is a wonderful point. Now, so on the previous album, there was Don't Be Angry With Me, a Sidney Sweeney video that hit. It was a hit. And there really wasn't much else on it that I really wanted to revisit. Oh my goodness.
But Sweet Sounds of Heaven is a song like, it is one of those big Stones tunes like Cant, you know, I'm trying to compare it. Maybe Moonlight Mod. It's like you're singing about an inevitability about it. It's like a portending or something. Yeah, like, gosh darn it. Can't you hear me knocking? It's not that wicked. It's not quite as wicked as sympathy for the devil, but. Well, we've got we saw them 2023 or 2024 tour. That's a whole story in itself, and we got to see him perform that on stage and it was the sound at this particular venue was not.
It was set up for country. Yeah, the venue is yeah, and so they played it next to some of their Better -known bigger tunes and it was right at home there So if you haven't laid your hands on a copy of hackney diamonds You'll want that and especially for that particular tune on the album. It is Lady Gaga Lady Gaga Is the person who sings the second part on that of course he has one of the backup singers do it on stage and probably in different cities in different places different guests to sing it but that's that's a minus in my opinion right on that album that she tries to sort of out sing Mick in my opinion well there was a little bit of that was a great song nevertheless yeah it's a great song and so my favorite cut off Hackney Diamonds, hands down.
Oh, for sure. Yeah. And it makes the album worth owning. And then, of course, there's Don't Be Angry With Me, which has grown on me. It's a tune a lot like Start Me Up. Every time we go to a Stones concert, I will tell Sarah, oh, we're going to have to wade through Start Me Up. And it's going to be the very first song. I don't care if I ever hear Start Me Up Again. I do not care. I just never have thought it was a very good tune. Every time we go... Well, you waited until Keith was singing. You waited until Keith was singing and then it gave you a chance to go to the restroom.
That's exactly right. Any time Keith steps to the mic, then it's time to get a beer and head to the restroom. Last time, I think, did he do Happy? Which made me want to stay. So he did Happy, which is about the only thing that I can handle. But yeah, when he steps through the mic, it's time to get a beer. They will never do Full to Cry. Well, I've seen them do it. They just didn't do it. So here's a phony thing that they do. It's a vote to see which song that they should play next. And they'll give you four choices, right?
And the best song of that choice... Fool to Cry. Fool to Cry. What did they pick? Oh, God. It was like a horse song. Oh, was it? Well, not the worst choice, but instead of Fool to Cry. What is the name of it? I can think of it. Wild Horses. That's it. Yeah. And it was OK. I mean, Wild Horses is a great song. Rather would have heard Fool to Cry. you know and and then we retreated to a couple other tunes that I don't care to ever hear again that's just that's the thing you don't have to like every song a band does to still like the band well when you're given near a grand or so to go see these guys this is true I kind of like to like every tune that they come out with so My experiences at Stone's concerts go back to 1980, and I think I've only missed a couple of tours since then.
And I know, you know, the professor saw the Beatles once. Wow. Yeah. Yeah, that was my first concert. The very first concert. Now, that's not most people's experience. First, they didn't, they weren't together that long, so there weren't that many concerts. And secondly, Professor's getting old, so you know, let's go back there. That was a Kansas City, Missouri concert. I'm not sure, it might have been a stadium called Shea, you would probably know that, I don't know. In Kansas City? I just don't know at the time what it would have been.
But didn't you tell me it was hard to hear and maybe not all what it was cracked up to be? Well, it was certainly a happening, but it the audience that the girls it was just incessant screaming So it did make it hard to hear anything except the screaming and that did literally go on all the time But I guess that shows that the audience had a lot of enthusiasm for the group that was playing How about how about memories of the stones any anything come to mind? I've seen him two or three times, but what I remember I think I'd mentioned this to you a long time ago, but it seemed like, as I said in the audience, we were waiting for the Stones to come out.
The strangest thing, there was a subtle feeling of menace in the auditorium because it was the Stones. I mean, it wouldn't have been that way if it had been the Carpenters or the Bee Gees. But for some reason, since the Stones are going to be out shortly, there was a subtle feeling of menace. And I don't know why. I mean, nothing was going to happen. That's one of the things that I miss most about a Stones. Concert is there was that feeling and you know things did happen Remember Altamont of course you do there was there was some minutes at Altamont right the raceway the first time I saw them was Kansas City as well and There was a big street market of any sort of recreational pharmaceuticals that you can imagine and you know there was it was quite active and there were people that were quite active on their pharmaceuticals the last time I went we couldn't hardly get anyone to stand up so you know things have certainly changed

I don't think I like it here backstage. The atmosphere is gloomy and it's too austere and the floors look like they need to be scrubbed and I see some cobwebs up above and up in the raptor areas. It just reminds me of Phantom of the Opera. I don't know. I don't think I like it backstage. I don't know what to say to that. Hey, everybody wants to be backstage. except the professor. I guess he's counting cobwebs when the rest of us are getting the autographs and enjoying the green room and the snacks and drinks and those sorts of things.
I guess to each of his own. So let's start with 90 Day and this is where Sarah really shines. You bet. Yeah, really loves 90 Day Fiance. Thanks so much. I just thought I would just turn you loose. What do you want to talk about as far as 90 -day fiancee goes?
Well, instead of starting off with the usual Katie, how about Shay and Annabelle? So tell everybody who Shay and Annabelle are. Annabelle's from the Philippines and I'm not sure where is Shay from? Uh, I think Shay is, um, no, he's, it's Kentucky. Is that where it is? Yeah. Cause they went up to the mountains. It's Paducah, Kentucky. Yeah. Yeah. And, and she was a little concerned us last time about seeing some bill hillies and that was funny. I thought she called them bill hillbillies. Yeah. And Shay was nice enough to her to say, I'll show you the difference between me and the hillbillies.
Right. Everybody thinks I'm a hillbilly. Wait till we get there. Yeah, wait till we get there. But she was also going to meet his other daughters. And that is where it got interesting. It got very interesting. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. Well, after we get settled in, I mean, I'll probably go to the attorney and something were to happen to me. I mean, Annabelle's alone. I mean, she'd have to have somewhere to live. I mean, what are you what are you what's what are you worried about? I mean, specifically.
I'm really glad my sister brought up the will, because, I mean, I wanted to say something, but I feel like I had already caused a lot of drama. But me, Abby Madison, had been here, like, the entire time, and Annabelle just arrived. So it's kind of weird that he says that she'll get everything and not for us to worry about it. I don't know. I mean, I just feel like it's not really the kid's place. So I just feel like it's between the... Husband and Wife. Shay, he needs to control his daughters. I'm very offended because I have a good life in the Philippines and I don't need Shay's money.
Okay, so a little background there. Yeah. They all went out. This is a couple days before the wedding. Right. And they're all sitting around sort of like in a... It wasn't really a rehearsal. A fire pit. It wasn't really a rehearsal dinner, but it was... part of the, you know, pageantry leading up to the nuptials. Right. And this is the older daughter asks about how the will will be distributed in front of everybody, you know, the kids, the friends. And, you know, you could kind of hear a pin drop.
Annabelle didn't really know what to say. But, you know, I was actually kind of proud of Shay for saying what he did. You know, and saying that's between me and her. Well, yeah, I don't think it was near strong enough for me. Well, probably not. But is he? He's not the kind of person that's going to react. Crazy anyway, I don't think he's not. Quick enough for that, I don't think. Let us tell you a little bit about more about Shay. Shay is is totally white. hair he's got stubble on top of his head that's kind of a crew cut that matches his beard which is sort of cut short too he's probably close pushing what maybe 400 pretty he's round he looks like a butterball turkey he does i mean he looks like he's in pain yeah right i mean he's he's older guy he looks he's actually like 57 yeah he's not in good shape for his age at all No, I thought he was so much older than that.
Yeah. And so, you know, and his daughters, they do all they can to take... What they can, when they can. When they can, they take complete advantage of him. They come over to his house. Well, the one does because she lives right next door. Yeah, the other one does too. And I mean, they really take a lot of advantage of him and he lets them. And so now Annabelle shows up and he's spending his time with her and sharing his money with her. And now they're worried about what's going to happen. What's in it for them now that she's here?
Yeah, and they're not. making any bones about it. What's in it for me? What are you doing with the will? Yeah, yeah. One more time. Is an Annabelle a poem from Edgar Allen Poe? I think yes, it is. Thanks for that. I don't know what to say about that. I don't know what to do with it. I mean, I just let it go into the night like a vampire. So let's move down the list. OK, Paula and Thomas. OK, I don't. That's not going really well with her. Her family coming in and everybody's staying in the apartment that he will allow.
No perfume. Cologne's deodorant, pretty much. Tell us who these people are. She's from Brazil, and I don't know what he does. No, I don't either. I don't really know what he does. But he's really tight with his money, so I don't think all that much. Yes, he's very conservative. won't buy anything for the apartment like a table or I mean just the simple basic things for the house which drives her crazy her little miniature things that she likes to have all the time miniature furniture miniature that she uses to sort of make things come true.
Right. Yeah. She believes that she has miniature things in her life, like for furniture, for cars, those sorts of things that they will then appear in reality. Become into existence. Right. Yeah. And so, yeah, she's superstitious. She was fairly successful in business in Brazil. She's her dream was to marry somebody from the gringo is how she puts it. Quoting. And so she's made the trip to the United States to get married. And this guy's weird to say that he's a weird guy. He's definitely. Yeah.
And so now all her family has shown up for the wedding. They have a one bedroom apartment, a teeny tiny one bedroom apartment. How many people showed up? Eight. Was it like eight? Yeah, at least eight. I mean, there's little kids, there's older family. I mean, it looks like, you know, the whole Brazilian family has shown up and they're all staying in his apartment. And this guy has phobias against sense, deodorant, those sorts of things. So they had all these fights about that. And so they're all now, you know, in the apartment.
I don't know where his things come from, because remember, They went to see his dad and his wife. And when they went there, they stayed in a camper. But when they ate with his dad and stepmom, they always cooked outside. They ate outside. Everything that they did was outside. Never saw a house that the dad lived in. So I don't know if this is just a way of life or they just weren't comfortable with showing their house. That's what I think it was. They didn't really want the whole world inside their house.
I just thought it was odd. Yeah, you know, and so he probably doesn't fall too far from the tree. Yeah, they're they're they're odd too. So let's move on to your favorite couple. Oh gosh, Katie and Josh, Katie and Josh. Yeah. Now Josh is from the UK. Katie's from the Pacific Northwest. It's Portland, isn't it? Not Seattle. I can't remember which. Anyway, she's out there. As we've described before, she likes to drink. And when she drinks, she gets really friendly with just about anybody who's around right in front of Josh.
So that's a problem. And Josh's folks have now showed up for the wedding. from the UK, you know, they don't really know her, and they're helping prepare for the wedding. That's the setup here. So they're having a little talk about what might happen. I vow to stay with Josh till he gets bald. Well, I started in my early 20s. He's already 30. I vow to try to not get other lovers. Try! So it's not definitely. But try really hard. It escapes me as to why Katie wanted to share that with my parents. Okay, I'm joking.
You should have seen their faces. It was like, what? She was serious. But you know, she saw the reaction on their faces and decided, oh, I was just kidding. I'll try. I'll try not to have any other lovers as we're putting up the wedding decorations and get ready, getting ready for the dinner. Those kinds of things. You know, just when you thought you've seen it all from Katie. Yeah, you get you get another helping what I find interesting is they they discuss this stuff all the time and her doing this kind of thing and Never once is it Deemed cheating never once Yeah, why well because I mean I think that I just think that the guys dumbfounded I don't I think he He, you know, writes it off to begin with as just too much to drink and you know, this went a little too far.
And then, but now that it's happened, you know, several times, he's, he's about done. He's just about done, but we're going to see what happens now because now folks are clued in. They're not just clued in, they've been told. It's just, it's not going well. It really isn't. Anybody else on the list before we get to the last segment? Who else was on there? If anybody else was on there, I can tell you I don't really remember who else was on there because Katie just blows my mind. She's the whole enchilada.
She just blows my mind. Who we've talked about before is the guy from the Dominican Republic. You're better at the names than I am. Oh, Marissa and Edward. Yeah, I hate her and I kind of feel sorry for him. Yeah, she's horrible. I just... Skeletor in real life. I mean that's really I Saw that and I cannot unsee it because that's about the truth Yeah, and social media does not care for this woman at all as if we care much about that, but they dislike her. Yeah She's just so mean about it. She is mean and she's been and pretentious right, but really pretentious Okay, so I guess

You're backstage with the discussants where Sarah and I are enjoying the free drinks. Going by the green room once again for another plate full of cutlets and another sandwich And we're watching the professor stand in the corner and count spiders and spider webs.
That's just where he's at Actually, I've been out exercising getting a little cardiovascular. I went out and ran five miles You didn't notice but I'm back. Hey now that's making that's so adorable Now that is making good use of your time, for certain. Right, yes. Anyway, I think better use is getting in the drink line, so I'm going to encourage you to go ahead and get in the drink line and maybe get a sandwich and lighten up a little bit. I'm going to hold out, I think, for potatoes cooked in extra virgin olive oil.
This is the night when the professor enjoys some potatoes cooked in a very special way. Absolutely. And if not, I can kind of relax and just listen to you guys and do other things and go in and out of the studio. Yeah, I remember one time Sarah sort of did that. She just had a little nap. I did. Yeah, just had like a little nap. Actually, I think I was looking at shoes. Yeah, you're looking at shoes. I think you had a little nap. Then he asked me a question. I was like, what? What? I don't know.
I'm looking for shoes. And now we got the professor out on a five mile run. Hey, listen to Doc G and the Discussants. This is a great show. It really is. It's spellbinding. Members of the cast out on a nap. If there's nothing else out there like it, I'll say that much for it. Well, let's continue on with our Trash TV Friday as part of the Discussants Backstage, which I love. I love the drinks and the food. Right. The professor thinks we need to clean up a little bit back here. Yeah, I think you should stop eating anything that had a face or had a mother.
Where you headed, sir? And that's not liberal. I was into that before I even knew liberal existed. Yeah, let's qualify that real quickly I couldn't get that couldn't got you on the wrong side of the fence almost didn't it with the Lord of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden they did he the only meat in the Garden of Eden I've eaten was the the devil in the form of a snake I don't think they cut him up and cooked him. Yeah, but it should have that really just put him on a spit Where you headed Sarah?
Bailin, okay Bailin bailing out loud. Part one of the wedding and she really was beautiful. The dress was really, really pretty. I have to agree with that. Colin wrote all these letters and gave all letters to everybody, which was nice. Or, ChatGPT wrote all these letters. Well, could be. How many bridesmaids were there? There's probably eight. Oh gosh, eight probably. There's probably eight. And then he wrote a letter to each of his parents. He wrote a letter to groomsmen. Now, you know, Colin's not a dumb guy.
He's not. No. He's not. But I don't see... When we read a couple of these letters, the pros that we... That was laid on us. I don't think I kind of think maybe there was a lot of chat GPT So that could have been that could have been yeah The speculation can't can't prove it But that's a lot of letters all at one place when I didn't see him having time to do anything But go from here there so right just a theory right don't even know that matters What I wanted to do was give the listening audience just a little taste of what?
Yeah, just what it's like to be around Balen so you get a better idea. You're done. You're done. When Balen starts ticking like this, the best thing to do is essentially active ignorance.
Get out of here, you donut. Just let her do her thing. Your dad has a vagina. Penis. Princess penis. I have a gun. Oh, good God. I have a gun. I have a gun. Well, it helps to tell you that she was standing in line at an airport waiting to get checked through and saying, I have a gun every five seconds. That's got to be so stressful. It's not easy. And you can see that's the flavor of the comments. It's hard to live with the comments. And if she sees somebody bald, she's going to say, you're bald.
I'm just going to call it out. Whatever she sees, if it's at all uncomfortable for somebody else, she's going to... I'm quite sure it's almost got him in fights probably a few times because it was just, you know. I mean, I think once people understand that a person has Tourette's, they're probably OK. But if you're driving down the road and she yells out the window, which she does, she'll roll the window down and stick her head out and just start yelling. Yeah, you know, it's probably a problem, but.
But he does so well with her. I mean. He just does kind of like her mom said, just let her roll. So tell us about this wedding. Oh goodness, the location was really nice. I was glad when they did change the location. I don't remember the name of the place, but it was really nice because everybody was able to stay on site, so that helped everything out. But of course, we're not all the way through the wedding yet, so when she went to see her dad. He got a first look in her wedding dress and stuff.
That was really sweet with her dad, Al. They've got a really close, really, really close relationship. and that's always nice to see. That seems like her whole family and they're all very close. I would like to see her little brother, Beckner, which he doesn't have Tourette's, but I think he needs a show in and of himself because he's hilarious. He's a little nut job for certain. He's all over the place. He's funny. He's growing up a lot, but he's funny. Yeah, he is funny. But, you know, the wedding is really very nice.
So we cut away from the wedding as Balen is getting ready to walk down the aisle. She's sort of hidden behind some bushes. The general crowd can't see her yet, but she's ticking. Yeah, pretty bad. She's very loud. And so everybody knows that Balen is at the back of the venue and getting ready to come down the aisle. And she's also made her parents aware who are out there with her that she's. that she feels like she might just pass out. And that's happened before. And she can hit the floor with these ticks and be basically paralyzed, immobile.
So there's a little more than just a little risk here. If she gets overloaded, she might just... And she's been ticking all day. All day, yeah. I mean, she got up that morning ticking. Hard, hard ticks. She has ticks to the point where her muscles in her legs might lock up, her arm might lock up, she might start hitting herself and there's just no, there's no preventing it once it starts. I got really concerned when they couldn't get her dress zipped up. You know how zippers are. Something gets caught in there and they couldn't get that zipper.
I thought, oh my gosh, this is going to send her over the edge. But she did really well. She didn't get overwhelmed by it or anything, so that was good. But that could have been a real problem. Anything else you want to add for Baylor? I don't think so. We're waiting for the second part. Wait for the second part. That's what Thursday or coming up. It's Thursday nights if I remember right. It's on Tuesday nights. Tuesday. Yes. How could I forget? I don't know. I don't know either. Anything else you want to add?
We had below deck. Right. Not much advanced in that story. We are monitoring something new, which is sort of against my better judgment. Are you talking about double lives? Double lives of suburban wives. I don't know about that one. Tom, you might like that one. I think Tom would like all of this. Anyway, these are ladies who, a couple of them were former teachers, and I say former. At the same school. At the same school. Yes. And they have been Outed were caught doing only fans type of things So I was under their teaching career, then there's a couple one other that is the daughter of a minister She's a little afraid to come out because she thinks it might cause some problems for her dad.
She thinks this might be a problem Yeah Then there's there's a couple others with similar stories They all know each other from the same town. That's what I find so bizarre. How many couples are there? Like five or six? Maybe seven? Hell, I don't know. I guess what is so, you know, bizarre to me because, you know, now different generation, but we sort of didn't let our wives We didn't pimp our wives out. It wasn't like we encouraged our wives to do, in quotes, content like they all like to run around and say.
And I mean, they take this like it's just another part -time job and we just couldn't quite afford life if I wasn't lack of a better pimping out my wife on the internet. Why didn't they call it that? Pimpin' out my wife. That might be a better name. Instead of pimp out my ride. Is that harsh? Let's ask the professor who's got no dog in this hunt. Professor? Yes, Doc. How would you feel? Let's get a ruling on this. So, if you're married and your wife is doing OnlyFans, is this a... Wait, what? Your wife is doing what?
OnlyFans. They're doing what they call spicy content online. They're dressing up in rubber, they're bathing, they're getting naked on... I don't even know what all they're doing. Of course, you have to only show what's okay for TV. We don't really know what... There's nothing that isn't okay for the internet. We don't really know how far out their content goes. Yeah. So something that something you're going to approve of? What do you think? Well, I don't want to go too far with it, but I've always enjoyed having my girlfriends be somewhat of a exhibitionist as I've gone along.
So once again, I mean, to a degree, I think what you're describing might be just a tad much, but I really need more details to comment intelligently on it. OK, so they also have children. They're married. They go down into a basement in some respects. They have children, okay, that negates all that, all the sides. Yeah, it's uncomfortable. And the school districts certainly thought it was uncomfortable. Out they went. So that's... Yeah, if you have kids, then that changes everything. You can't, you have to withdraw from exhibitionism of any sort, I think.
nurture the child, discipline the child properly. He doesn't want to see his mother as whatever online. I wonder because there's a lot of kids. Every one of these families have multiple, several kids. There are young kids in some respects. They're like all boys and ones. I can't imagine. Yeah, I can't imagine if my mother would. I just can't imagine. So anyway, that's the premise of that one. We're keeping an eye. Because, I don't know, there might be a story or two. Yeah, I don't know either. I hate to lend my Nielsen nickel to that.
Right. Yeah, I hate to encourage it. Well, I don't know which one's worse, the double lives of suburban wives or the poly thing. I don't know. Yeah, we kind of drew a line there too, but at the same time, we want listeners. And they seem to like this. Crap. So, you know, I mean, so far we've been this sort of milk toast with it with, you know, 90 -day and, you know, below deck. Well, a lot of 90 -day alumni have only fans. That's true. I mean, once they get to a point where they don't work anymore and all it is is media, that seems to be all they want to do from then on out.
Well, that's going to do it for us. Jersey Shore. Yeah. That's going to do it for us, for the professor. And Sarah, I am Doc G. Have a happy Friday, and we'll see you Monday. discussants and a few other surprises visit the discussants .com
